Course Overview

SQL for Beginners will boost your analytics skills by giving you everything you need to get started with SQL

What this course is

This course helps you solve business problems by analyzing data using SQL. Along the way, you will learn how to install database software, set up your own database, query the database, and perform analysis based on real-world examples and use cases.

While all industries rely on SQL and data analytics these days, this course focuses on typical business use cases using the publically available Northwinds data set.

What this course isn't

The world of SQL is huge. There are many different parts of SQL that this course will not cover. For example, creating views, optimizing queries, and troubleshooting database installation bugs, are not covered in this course.

Other parts of the analytics role like ETL, data visualization, and business intelligence are not covered either.

What you need for this course

You will need internet access and access to a laptop or desktop computer to follow along with the hands-on portions of the course.

The course content may be viewed on a mobile device or tablet, but a full computer with a keyboard is required for software installation and coding purposes.
